Because it would be terribly confusing if multiple places could control things
like channel changing, and if only one place can control it, what's the point
of letting multiple places watch the exact same live stream?
Just buy another tuner card for your existing backend, or set up another
backend.

Just mount the data however you want and configure the frontend so it knows
where you put it.
