If you want me to apply this, it needs to be integrated with the
frontend such that it can be selected for automatic use (from the
configure recorder menu).  From my perspective, mythtranscode has only
2 uses:(a) connected to mythfrontend to transcode automatically or
manually, or (b) used by external programs (nuvexport, whatever) as a
decoding engine.  I am not interested in adding switches that don't
fall int one of those two arenas.
Perhaps you can convince convince one of the other developers to do
it, but otherwise, inetrate it with mythfrontend and resubmit.
