I was experiencing the same problem, everything worked just fine, till I 
tried to watch tv then BOOM. cleaned that directory out and all is well.
FWIW I only had de-interlacing enabled as I watch lots of animated stuff 
and its really hard on the eyes when its not de-interlaced.
