I couldn't reproduce the problem inside GDB (even though it was happening 
all the time outside GDB)..  However, I have turned off the new logo 
detection code and the backend hasn't crashed since, so if you're using 
logo detection you might want to turn it off and see if it fixes your 
problem too.
