I reached this conclusion based on the following:

1) We don't have play button only a pause toggle.
2) There's currently no way to exit fast forward /reverse mode short of 
slowing things down to normal or pausing then unpausing the video.  If 
there's another key that makes sense then please let me know what it is.
3) In three years or so of using a PVR I've never gone from FF/REW to 
pause.  I HAVE gone from FF/REW to play more times than I can count.

I'd be happy with adding a play button, since I personly feel there 
should be one.  But to having to pause then unpause after a rewind or 
ffwnd seems rather silly.
