Wait - you mean the ALSA project has *ever* had proper documentation as 
how to create a proper .asoundrc?  I'm remembering ESR's rant about CUPS 
recently, and the clarity of setup it provides.  ALSA is MUCH, MUCH 
worse, IMHO.
