i *do* realise that
waiting for another project (in fact 3, kernel, v4l2 and ivtv) to get their 
respective and collective acts together is like watching paint dry

all i was doing was providing people (who were complianing) with a recipe 
which - wait for it - worked

so they could use the software while we wait for the dust to settle
that is all
not complaining
not being awkward

just providing a data point of success - and boy is this software so cool!

recorded my first program for my wife while she was out and then when she got 
back we watched it - no longer a toy in this household
