OK, I tested the code and have to give it a big thumbs up. I only tried it for a dozen channel changes or so, but I had no segfaults during that time (where previously it would segfault after just 2-6). I then set something to record went off to get some food, came back and tried to change channel and it immediately segfaulted in the backend (but I wasn't running under the debugger). I restarted it immediately under the debugger and it started recording straight away....

So there is a possibility that there is a problem relating to watching live tv while a recording is just about to start (and perhaps even I changed channel at exactly the same moment...? However, treat this as nothing more than a heads up because....

...I clearly didn't read the instructions and apply this patch... Durr. So I will retest tonight with this patch in place! Hopefully this is all that was wrong.

Has anything changed with the sync code recently? I had a two week old CVS before, but upgraded to latest last night, and now I notice that the lip sync is ever so slightly ahead of the sound, ie sound is fractionally early. This would obviously work quite well for a reasonable size living room though and sound would be spot on. Could be random, but just wondering if anything changed here deliberately?

Oh, one other request, the tuning seems to be much quicker, fantastic. However, could we have the timing info added back in the standard console messages again? I thought this was a nice feature to show the difference between the DVB and dvb_kernel drivers for example...

Thanks Kenneth. Looks extremely good.
