Thanks for replying, David. I remember this went in along with
several other patches but I didn't remember who did what ;-).

I was thinking that ESC (Cancel) would be the right key if it
was more selective about which OSD states it would clear (i.e.
ESC would not clear CC but would clear channel digits).

SPACE/ENTER might be a better key choice. Normally this would
be Save Position but I think intercepting the first save attempt
would be less intrusive than intercepting an exit attempt. Of
course, SPACE cannot be the clear key for the exit menu because
it needs to be used for selecting the highlighted item.

No matter which key is used I think CC still needs to be treated
as an exception since this can constantly redraw new lines of
text. Pressing ESC (or SPACE) might be followed immediately by
another line of text before the next key press. This give a sense
of being stuck or the key doesn't work. Besides, it really isn't
necessary to clear one line of text so any keystroke should have
it's normal function during CC.
