Here's a suggestion that might make life easier for newbie myth module
writers like myself ...
How about a MythExample module that demonstrates how to use the stuff in
libmyth?
Say, a module that loads up a menu of various items to pick ("UI Examples",
"Data Access Examples", "Setup Examples", etc). This would also provide an
easy answer to questions like "how do I use the 'themed' widgets"? (Answer,
read the code in "MythExample that demonstrates it").
A case in point, I just saw Thor's commit about the new "metadata server"
... I have no idea what that is (being new), but test cases could be rolled
into MythExample and I could see how it is used, why it's useful, what I
could use it for, etc.
I guess I'm saying that without developer docs (which I *totally* understand
why they don't exist), examples are all that's left (and I'd argue they are
*better* than docs, since docs get out of date, and MythExample could be
QA'd when interfaces change, etc).
I know typically putting a hand up for something like this results in "great
idea, let us know when your done!". Unfortunately, I'm just starting so I'm
still ignorant about much of how/why myth works ...
