[mythtv] HDTV-size overlays on Radeon 7000 card...

I am the proud owner of a new pcHDTV card. In trying to watch HDTV
streams i'm having problems getting my Radeon 7000 (32mb) card to display the
video. It handles 720p streams correctly, and 1080i properly when using
Xshm/X11 output. But trying to use Xv with 1080i streams results in a good
picture on the left 3/4 of the screen, but a blue bar on the right 1/4.

Can anyone tell me if this is a hardware limitation of the 7000? 32mb
should be enough for all the buffering involved. I have tried both straight
XFree86 4.2.1 and Gatos drivers. The X driver frequently bombs out with an
"insufficient resources" error when trying to init Xv at 1920x1080, the gatos
driver at least does not suffer from that problem. Dropping every other field
and initalizing Xv at 1920x540 allows the straight X driver to not bomb out, but
results in the same 1/4 blue screen.

If this is a hardware limitation, does the Radeon 9200 suffer from it
as well?

As background: I need to scale the HD down to 1024x768 for display on
my projector. My machine isn't quite fast enough to do so using Xshm, I'm
hoping it can handle it if the video card does the scaling and YUV->RGB
conversion.
