I had the same thing happen to me... I yanked my second bttv card
after pulling my hair out. num_channels=-52675 sounds wrong, maybe I'll
try downgrading lame and putting the card back in.
I saw values for num_channels that were anywhere from negative ten
thousands to positive 14 million.
