[mythtv] archiving idea

I'm working on something vaguely related, but it will use transcoding. I
prefer exporting AVI over NUV for portability reasons. NUV is an open
format, but when you are sitting in front of a Mac or Windows computer
with a CD full of .nuv's it might as well be a proprietary format.
