Smile. Indeed. (There's still a mystery in my patch:
What are all those 'zerocnt' loops supposed to be for!?)

It makes playback much more reliable, and it also
seems to fix the whole 'forward 10 mins' and 'back 10 mins'
jumps. They still pause for nearly 15 seconds though.
