Ugh. I hate Outlook Express. I just composed a very long, detailed message
about my HDTV setup, and now it's gone. Here's a shorter one:
You can create your own Modelines from Powerstrip timings. Look here:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=206854 and here:
http://pub28.ezboard.com/fentechfrm7 (and elsewhere, I'm sure) for
Powerstrip timings that other people have gotten working. Now type those
data into the form here:
http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/faq/vga2rgb/calc.html et voila! X in
stunning HDTV resolution!
If you only have YPbPr inputs on your HDTV (like me), pick up an Audio
Authority 9A60 (http://www.audioauthority.com/aacconsumers/9a60detc.html)
from Copperbox (they're the cheapest place I found, and they're linked from
AA's site).
Oh, the powerstrip timings are in the following format:
res=hres,hfp,hsw,hbp,vres,vfp,vsw,vbp,pixel clock,some random number
(afaict)
I'm just using an 856x480 Modeline I generated from timings on that page.
If you find a set of timings that work for 960x540 (the ones that I've found
so far overscan like mad), please drop me a line. I'd love to be at a
higher res.
Jon
