	This is neither intentional nor a bug. It's a feature. 

	When mythmusic starts up, it tries to reconcile what's on disc versus what's 
in the database (that's a big part of the current startup lag ... will be 
improved when your's truly finally hands some code to Isaac that has been 
expected for several days.).

	If you want to be able to stream files (i.e. have mythmusic play), then it 
needs to know what files are where. The problem you are having is that while 
Myth is very gracious in allowing a user to have mp3 encoded files, it is 
extremely stupid about how it calculates data about these sorts of files.

	Hang tight, use xmms over the very short term, and all will be well.
