Ok, nope, they're encoded wrong. Mplayer plays the files with video and sound progressively farther out of sync. Maybe this is the bug that got fixed in CVS a while ago.

Subject:	Super speed playback bug
Every so often, my myth player will switch into "super speed" playback mode where the episode plays twice (or more) as fast as it should. The frontend complains of "Audio buffer overflow, audio data lost!" repeatedly, and it's like it's playing in fast forward. The sound is not high pitched, but you only catch every other word or so, just as you appear to be missing frames.

Is this a problem that others have encountered? I'm guessing it is a playback error, and not that the files were encoded like that.
