Thanks for the suggestion ixion. However, I just tried that -
I stopped the ALSA drivers loading, set the OSS drivers to load, and
rebooted. Sound in Myth then didn't work at all - it recorded a mute
recording (even though the mixer was set correctly), and when trying
to playback, /dev/dsp was busy. Even when closing everything
(including
X) something still had a stranglehold over /dev/dsp.
On top of this, whilst using the OSS drivers, playing back any
recording in Myth played back at double-speed (see also my other
problem "Mplayer - video at double speed").
So, I'm pretty stuck now.
Any more thoughts?
