Where did you get debian-unstable ISOs exactly?  Debian unstable generally
doesn't have a working installer (this is done for the releases only).
The recommended way to 'install' unstable is to install stable (only the
base system) and then point your sources.list to unstable and
upgrade/install additional packages.
