If it's 802.11b, then the raw throughput rate is 11Mbps.  But your
effective over-the-air rate is less than half that.  I believe that
Network World tested a few 802.11b APs last year, and found that the
Cisco Aironet was the fastest, but that the data rate was something
close to 4mbps.
