seems like knoppix is well liked. My only concern would be that since
they use what looks to be an on the fly compression system to load things off
the CD, I could see RAM usage going through the roof and fast. Also, I think
it would take me an awful long time to cut down the knoppix distro to just
what is needed to run Mythtv. No sense in finding bandwidth to download
a 700 meg iso when all we really need is 100.
If I didn't have a pretty good starting CD to work with already, I would look
into knoppix a little more, but since I already have a pretty solid boot
cd with apache and mysql working that only uses about 200 megs of space,
Im going to try to run with that. Also, the boot disc I have is setup to
allow you to load custom configs from a floppy disc, CF card, network via
http or harddrive. Makes config changes and distributing patches a breeze.
BTW, the latest version of the boot CD is building from source right now,
usually takes about 7 hours to complete so sometime tomorrow I should be
able to start putting the reqs for mythtv onto it.
