[mythtv] New Problem when using remote

Nope, never found a fix. I concluded that since the problem does not
occur when using the keyboard, that it is a lirc/irxevent problem, but
I have no direct evidence. I posted to the lirc list about the problem,
but go no response. For all I know it is really mythtv, or kde but I
doubt it. I'd like to hear from anyone else who has this problem. The
only thing in common that Rob and I had was we are both using a
homebuilt ir reciever with the lirc_serial kernel module. So if anyone
else is experiencing this problem, please let me know and tell me what
your setup is. And if anyone is NOT experiencing this problem with the
lirc_serial module and/or a homebuilt ir reciever, I would also like to
hear about it.

oh, an added subtlety to the problem: if you enable the end of
recording dialog and the exit recording dialog it successfully makes
the switch from viewing the recording to the frontend. However, if you
turn those dialogs back off the transition from watching to the
frontend results in the window not being focused (and hence no remote
control). This makes me think that someone (more knowledgable than I)
could write something into mythtv that would simulate the same sequence
of events that causes the frontend to correctly get focus if dialogs
are enabled.

best,
