Even the guy working on re-implementing things so he can write up docs for 
someone else to write a clean driver thinks that those reference drivers are 
of questionable status.

No.  I don't really want to write code for hardware I don't have.

It's configured in the frontend setup.  The 'system shutdown' option sets a 
modifier to use with Esc to exit the frontend.
