[mythtv] backend plus frontend

Isaac,
getting the same version of cvs on both frontend and backend did improve
the situation.
I now can startup frontend on a separate machine and view and navigate the
saved shows. the preview window even plays the video in the corner.

however, when i select the show to watch it, the screen flashes once then
mythfrontend crashes with an Illegal execution error.

Is anybody currently watching recorded video in mythfrontend over the
network?
I'm not sure if this portion of the code is incomplete or if it's a
problem with my setup.
I'm so close.

thanks for the help
gf

thanks Isaac,
you are absolutely right about my versions conflicting.
can't wait to get home and update, hmm, why wait until I get home, i'll
start compiling now. gotta love ssh.

perhaps you could put in an initial check for matching versions between
the frontend and backend and give a nice friendly puke on the frontend if
they don't match.
this may become more of an issue once people have a few frontends on the
go.

just my 2 cents

You're running an older cvs checkout on the backend than you are on the
frontend.
