Hi guys,
I don't know if this is really useful, but it doesn't break anything and it's,
I think, a better version of the perl script to change channels on an
external box. What's different in this script is this:
1) It doesn't limit the number of input digits to four
2) You can use this script outside of myth* to pass arguments other than
digits
Right now if you try to do something like
rc SEND_ONCE <remote> POWER (or any non-digit argument) the script will send P
O W E R, which your cable box will not understand as a valid command.
Like I said, the usefulness of these modifications is limitted to outside of
myth operations. That is of course unless myth's native lirc support is
changed so that it passes through commands it doesn't understand to the
channel changing script.
Ignore me if I don't make sense :-)
IvanK.
