dude, you ROCK.  I just applied this to my own tree since I got
impatient waiting for Isaac to do so, and it works like a charm.

I still don't have the perl code done for extracting the audio sampling
rate, but that's probably because I haven't had any time to do it.  But
once I get that done, I should have a clean easy way to make svcd's out
of recorded shows.
