Another way to test would perhaps be to tune manually using dvbstream and
the exact params you have set for your tuning params.

I'm not clear whether "scan" which comes with your 1.00 driver works easily
with DVB-S (it's fine with dvb-t...), however, if you run this it will
generate a channels.conf format file which you can easily look at and see
your available channels/double check your settings, and even import the file
via myth channels.
