Hello everyone!
Finally my Shuttle 41G2 arrived, and I have been setting up Gentoo linux on
the box to turn it in to a MythTV machine. Only a couple of surprises so
far:
1) Gentoo Linux on a Athlon XP 2600+, 1 GB, 200GB harddisk, Nforce 2
mainboard (Geforce 4MX) and an optimized Linux gaming kernel is EXTREMELY
fast, even with KDE 3.1.
2) The NForce soundchip is only supported with the Intel ALSA driver, so
only 2 channel audio.
3) There is NO line-in on the board! Is is broken on ALL 41G2 shuttle's, so
I will probably buy another tvcard with btaudio.
I got Myttv from CVS today, and compiled all dependancies. No problems
there. Only when I ran setup, I got the following message:
BUG: StackedConfigurationGroup::raise()
after I filled in all the fields and pressed escape.
Xawtv is working ok (only no sound due to the missing line-in), but when I
run mythbackend -d & mythfrondend, and I click on Play TV, then Mythtv locks
up. When I hit CTRL-C, I come back to the console, with the backend and
fronted stopped.
I use KDE, but stopped artsd.
Any help?
Greetings from the Nederlands,
Harry Westerman
