To fix the terminal window popping up, I would alt-tab to select it, then
minimize, always works for me.  And if you don't mind my asking, can someone
tell me what part of the code was changed in cvs that fixed the focus issue? 
I'm having the same problem but would rather keep the 0.8 release, trying to get
my wife to start using this but if it's buggy (as is to be expected with a cvs
version) then it'll never
succeed.
