Why get a 250/350 and use an analogue input when there are digital sources available? (Genuine question)
Is digital as wide spread as the marketers are claiming? In europe we have DVB, but I was under the impression that the US got that as well? In the UK we now have a two methods of getting the same channels as over analogue, but without any monthly rental costs - I don't know how that compares to other countries.
For what it is worth, anyone here in the UK who is still on terrestrial tv and hasn't bought a £80 free-view box from Dixons yet, should go and have a good look at them. The quality is *way* higher than terrestrial analogue (for me at least). Very nice! The £110 version has RGB output via the scart socket and output jacks to plug straight into your Hifi - works very well
I have a DVB-T card on order and I hope to be able to integrate this with Myth in analogue mode initially. I'm rather hoping that the work you guys do on integrating the 250/350 might eventually allow me to add the DVB card and read the compressed MPEG 2 stream in directly.

Actually, the 350 has an FM tuner, and video output
connectors. Some 250's (we call them rev-1) have a
decoder chip, but no way to ouput the video. We're
going to see if it's possible to make them into
hardware decoders that decode to memory or possibly
overlay. some 250's only have an encoder chip (we call
those rev-2)
Additionally, the (250)cards seem to cost ~$150 us.
Not dirt-cheap. I only have one card, and i'm quite
sure multiple cards won't work with the current
driver. It shouldn't be too much work to get support
going, but i'll need a card first (someone wanna send
me a 350? :)
