[mythtv] Red Hat 9 packages and encountered problems (was: Red Hat 8.0 rpms (was: Version 0.8 is now available.))

I have rebuilt the rpms for Red Hat 9. They are being uploaded now, and will
appear later on the atrpms site. I have tested only very basic functionality
as my Red Hat 9 host does not have a capture card (-> please report success or
failure to me).

Please note the following about Red Hat 9.

o The installation procedure is different, probably because Red Hat 9 ships
  another qt version than Red Hat 8.0 (3.1 vs 3.0.5 I think).

o Paths in generated Makefiles are relative again (../../ <...> /../lib
  instead of /usr/lib etc.) breaking relocated builds and installs.

o Needed directories are not created, files seem to be installed at the nearest
  possible location (e.g. the blue theme lands under share/mythtv).

In order to fix this I ran qmake on all Makefiles and replaced relative paths
with absolute ones before running make. I also created all needed directories
before issuing make install.

Does any qmake expert know how to really fix these issues? Is there a way to
tell qmake to use only absolute paths and to make qmake aware of relocated
builds (e.g. building for /usr, but installing under /var/tmp/myth-root/usr,
common practice for packaging).

How do the debian packages deal with it? Another qt version?
