[mythtv] MPEG4 files

Is there any plan on using a standard file format for shows recorded in
MPEG4 format.  It would be nice if these files could be viewed on other
computers using just MPlayer, or another media player such as QuickTime,
RealOne, or Windows Media Player.  I know there are patches for MPlayer, but
it seems like more work.  If you can record to a standard encoding, why not
to a standard file format?
