[mythtv] I'm new...

I have a similar rig. Everything ended up working pretty well, but I
ended up buying a hauppage WinTV-GO for $49 from compusa. The
all-in-wonder is not fully supported by linux yet, and will not allow
you to record and watch tv at once.
