[mythtv] Thoughts on Importing/Exporting Video

Isaac, any thoughts on exporting and importing video?

- From what I can see, the filenames on disk lead with the chanid,
followed by the date.  If I put the captured file on a different
system, my "Channel 42" may not be the same as the "Channel 42" of
the machine that created the video, which could lead to confusing
program guide data.

Have you thought about an "export" function that creates a text file
that has a copy of the database data?  That way, when the video is
imported into another system, we can read the text file to know what
the video contains.

Inserting that data into the local database probably wouldn't make
sense, unless you have a "Channel 0" available for imported programs.

What do you think?
