Did you mute the line-in of your sound card?  "Out of sync" audio is
a classic sign that you're listening to the audio pass-through of
your soundcard, not the synced audio that's been encoded with the
video.

Check the mythtv-HOWTO document in CVS /docs directory or the mailing
list archives for how to mute with various distributions.
