[mythtv] Latest CVS Alsa drivers -> no sound

Recompiling the ALSA drivers from the latest cvs fixed the problem
with the computer locking up hard.
But now i dont have any sound.

[root@localhost root]# gmplayer -ao alsa9 file.wav
[snip]
alsa-init: testing and bugreports are welcome.
alsa-init: requested format: 22050 Hz, 2 channels, Unsigned 8-bit
alsa-init: 1 soundcard found, using: hw:0,0
alsa-init: unable to set format: Invalid argument
couldn't open/init audio device -> no sound
Audio: no sound!!!
Video: no video!!!

Anybody have any ideas?
