I have a Motorola Digital Cable box DCT2244 which has
a standard DB9 serial connector on the back. So all I
did for the connection was to grab a standard DB9
serial cable and hook it between my box and my
computer.

Getting the code was just by searching on the net. I
found that string on the tivo community forums where
someone had posted a script to cycle the power on
their digital cable box from their tivo.

Unfortunately I haven't found any other actual code to
use with the serial control over digital cable boxes.
I am still trying to find the correct hex commands to
change channel, but no luck yet.
