Brief instructions.

1. cd /usr/local
2. tar xvfj  mythtv-gentoo-portage.tar.bz2=20
3. edit /etc/make.conf=20
    a. USE=3D"mysql alsa" # You will have to emerge qt if it wasn't build=
 with=20
"mysql"
    b. PORTDIR_OVERLAY=3D/usr/local/portage
4. emerge rsync
5. emerge ExtUtils-MakeMaker # Not needed if you have ExtUtils-MakeMaker-=
r4=20
already, will cause perl problems if you have an earlier version.
5. emerge mythtv
