Uhm, I discovered that my Mandrake 9.0 (download version) doesn't put the
compiled kernel in the right place (even with "make bzlilo").  I need to
copy it from / (or the kernel source tree) to /boot to get it running.

Don't know about kernel-modules though (!)

Pretty stupid me thinks.
