I tried your suggestions (Roberto) and have been having better
luck, I just can't get it to modprobe the bttv in yet. I get:

/lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o.gz: init_module:
No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
modprobe: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o.gz failed
modprobe: insmod bttv failed

dmesg reports:

Linux video capture interface: v1.00
bttv: driver version 0.7.96 loaded
bttv: using 4 buffers with 2080k (8320k total) for capture
bttv: Host bridge is VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C597 [Apollo VP3]

lspci -v reports:

Additionally, lsmod returns (there are many more, but I insmod'd all of
these):

Too much information?

TIA,

KT

It seams too simple to me, but you might want to try this:

      TV
Escrito por: Anónimo sobre 20/05 01:57
      Hola..
Proba levantando el tuner primero de esta manera: (try modporbing
the tuner first)
      modprobe tuner type=5

Bien ahora si levanta bien el modulo del tuner, tendrias que levantar
el modulo del bttv que de esta manera:
(Well, if it works, you would have to try modprobing the bttv module,
this way:)
      modprobe bttv card=0x44

Ahora tendrias que poder ver la tele =) con el xawtv (aunque el xawtv
lo vas a tener que configurar para pal-nc y listo) (Now you should have
to be able to watch tv with xawtv [you might have to configure xawtv for
pal-nc and we are done])

      Suerte
      (good luck)
