[mythtv] lock up thought - gcc 3.x to blame???

I am using Gentoo 1.4 (currently gcc 3.2-r4) and the 2.14.19
gentoo kernel sources with no problems. Seems to me the most
 common reasons for lock-ups are sound driver related.
