[mythtv] Video Server

I saw some discussion about capturing to a server with Myth.  I saw this a
long time ago, and it spurred some thinking.

The first question is, would using the following in conjuction with Myth
work?

http://www.videolan.org/

I thought it would be great to build some low end boxes just for video
playback using the client, and a "Big" Myth box for capturing video.

Any takers?  I'm no coder, so if it took a lot of coding, I'd be of no help.
I'm a good tester though. :)
