Comment (by John Hoyt):

 It occurs all the time in both recordings and videos playback.  Both for
 480i and 1080p videos.

 When paused, I see no OSD (could just be off screen).  When I hit menu I
 get the oversized screen like when Mark and I were debugging in the
 referenced ticket 13618.
