 I tried to reproduce the problem last night but was not successful.  I
 will keep tyring.

 There is some unsafe access somewhere.  I didn't see it in my visual audit
 of mainserver and scheduler but I'll keep looking.  Autoexpire should have
 some locking too (I'll add it) but is unlikely to be the problem.
