 Since this thread indicated that kodi is problematic with this entry, and
 since I was using that for diagnosing the problem, I started with that
 section removed.  I have just gone back and re-added the deviceList
 section.  The other two devices I used to confirm the fix still work with
 that in place.  I do not have enough devices to specifically say that this
 is kodi specific, but at this stage, it seems to be the only one
 exhibiting the problem.   In general, the other changes in the patch are
 all that are required for things to work properly for me.
