 The first 2 are correct, the 2nd 2 are ineffective. There are no
 formatting directives in '\n' to which the % operator is applied. The
 string being updated is the correct one to use as the first operand of the
 % operator. If the print function has 1 arg, then things are usually fine
 and these 2 are (fine I mean).

 Already applied the first 2 anyway.
