 With Debug logging enabled, show that recorders/v4lrecorder.cpp is
 attempting to open /dev/vbi0 device.  Right after this attempt, slave
 backend seg faults.

 I see that the problem is that the recorder code assumes that its
 recording from a "proper tuner" even when set to record from "Composite"
 device.
