 Not sure I understand the installing of dependancies as this is Mythbuntu.

 Installed php-mysqli:
 sudo apt-get install php-mysqli[[BR]]
 user at Mythbuntu-PVR:~$ sudo apt-get install php-mysqli[[BR]]

 Note, selecting 'php7.0-mysql' instead of 'php-mysqli'[[BR]]

 The result after is the same originating error.  Accessing
 http://host/mythweb results in the error to install php-mysqli
