 I still don't know.

 I won't even try live TV playback anymore since I wouldn't be able to skip
 forward to the end. I don't want to have to try and explain to my wife how
 to kill the frontend every time she wants to change a channel or watch a
 movie.

 I have two other frontends and they all do this. Really annoying and I
 don't know how to provide more information than simply describing the
 problem.
