 I may have found a solution to this:

 During initial setup I had to install the Ceton Windows utility on a few
 Windows machines in order to get everything to work.   I theorized that
 the Ceton utility was responsible for switching the channel (as it does
 this during channel testing).

 Just shutting down the Windows Ceton utility on the computers it is
 installed on did not help.   I had to uninstall all Ceton software
 (including drivers) from all Windows machines on the local network.
 Since then I have not had a interrupted recording, though it hasn't been
 long enough to know for sure yet.  (fingers crossed)
